Words of Life

A primary task for the pro-life movement is to draw society into deeper reflection about the mystery, wonder and value of human life. We need to promote an alternative to the technological outlook which seeks to control and manipulate birth and death, to reduce nature to "matter," to elevate having over being, to depersonalize the body and sexuality, and to replace the criterion of personal dignity with the criterion of efficiency, functionality and usefulness. Our task is to call our brothers and sisters' hearts and minds to wonder and awe.

For all medical practitioners: that they recognize the Spirit of God which dwells in every human person; w e pray to the Lord. Amen.

Una tarea principal para el movimiento pro vida es acercar la sociedad a una reflexión más profunda sobre el misterio, maravilla y valor de la vida humana. Necesitamos promover una alternativa a la perspectiva tecnológica que busca controlar y manipular la vida y la muerte, reducir la naturaleza a "materia", elevar el tener sobre el ser, despersonalizar el cuerpo y la sexualidad, y reemplazar el criterio de dignidad personal con el criterio de eficiencia, funcionalidad y utilidad. Nuestra tarea es llamar al corazón y mente de nuestros hermanos y hermanas a maravillarse y asombrarse.
