Journey Through Scripture:

The Bible and the Virgin Mary – UPDATED VERSION

The Bible and the Virgin Mary, is a six-week Bible study investigating the scriptural basis of Catholic doctrine with regard to the Blessed Virgin, answering common objections along the way. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "What the Catholic faith believes about Mary is based on what it believes about Christ, and what it teaches about Mary illumines in turn its faith in Christ" (CCC 487).

The Bible and the Virgin Mary, the fourth of the parish studies, has been completely rewritten by Dr. Scott Hahn and the team from the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology.  This Bible study incorporates live and multimedia presentations, small group discussion, along with some outside reading. To learn more about this series visit the St Paul Center's web site at www.SalvationHistory.com.

Mary…To truly understand her, to truly know her—one must first turn to Sacred Scripture. Join us and arrive at a deeper love and appreciation for Mary as our Mother through our Catholic faith.

Classes begin Sunday, Sept. 12, place and time to be announced. Seating is limited. Registration will be held after all Masses THIS weekend, Aug. 21/ 22.

For more info, contact Charolette J. Garcia-Aboytes “CJ” at 210-692-1916.

Recycle Your Rosaries!

Our parish’s rosary makers are halfway to this year’s goal of 4,000 rosaries for Father Pat. (They’ve sent 2,000 rosaries as of July.) You can help by recycling your unused or broken rosaries or by donating beads. Drop these in the wooden church box located on the counter in the narthex. Monetary donations can be placed in the collection baskets. Simply write “rosary makers” on the envelope or check memo line.

You’re also invited to join in the rosary-making fun on the first Sunday of the month or at the Tuesday morning meetings, check the bulletin for times and locations.

Save the date: our next rosary making marathon is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 10.

Thanks to all who’ve made the rosary makers so successful!

Do you often forget your donation envelopes at home?
