I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.

From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me…” 2 Tm 4:7-8

In Memoriam

This week we said goodbye to someone who has been an integral part of St. Anthony Mary Claret parish for as long as it’s existed. Bert Bednarz passed away on Monday, March 29 following a lengthy illness. He was a founding member of the parish and also served as the maintenance supervisor for many years while remaining active in several organizations. Bert wore numerous hats during the 22 years he was a part of our parish: husband, father, grandfather, employee, fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and member of the Men’s Club and Society of St. Vincent De Paul.

But to most here at St. Anthony Mary Claret, we will most fondly remember him simply as our beloved friend, a gentle giant with a sparkle in his eye who was quick to laugh and even quicker lend a hand; a kind-hearted jokester who cared deeply about his family, friends and his faith; a special man that will remain in our hearts long after he is gone.

The parish community extends its heartfelt condolences to Bert’s wife, Martha, and the entire Bednarz family.

Incline Your ear, O Lord, unto our prayers. We humbly pray You show Your mercy to the soul of Your servant Bert, whom You have commanded to pass out of this world, that You would place him in the region of peace and light, and bid him be partaker with Your Saints. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Pray for an unborn child!

St. Anthony Claret Respect Life Ministry

3rd Annual Spiritual Adoption: Sept. 2009 to June 2010

Our parish’s Respect Life Ministry invites you to join in this year’s Spiritual Adoption.

Offer this prayer daily for a baby forming in the womb of an unknown mother and for an end to abortion: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much; I beg you to spare the life of the unborn child that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion.

During your earthly life, this child which you have adopted will be known only to God, but in the hereafter, you will enjoy each other’s company for all eternity.

BUNCO = FUN, FOOD, FRIENDS

Ladies of St Anthony Claret Fall Bunco

Saturday, April 17, 6:30 p.m.

Tickets will be sold after all Masses April 10/11.

If you can’t purchase your tickets then call Olga @ 210-679-7484.

Pre-sale only/None sold at the door!

$6 per person includes bunco, dinner & dessert.

Questions? Call Olga Honermann at 210-679-7484

What is bunco? It is an easy game involving the throw of three dice. Because you change partners after each round, it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, renew old friendships and spend a special, fun time with your family. Throwing a "six" will earn you and your partner points; three sixes earn a bunco. It’s so simple; you can learn to play in minutes!  Anyone ages 10 & over is invited to play.
