Pray for an unborn child!
St. Anthony Claret Respect Life Ministry
3rd Annual Spiritual Adoption: Sept. 2009 to June 2010
Our parish’s Respect Life Ministry invites you to join in this year’s Spiritual Adoption.
Offer this prayer daily for a baby forming in the womb of an unknown mother and for an end to abortion: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much; I beg you to spare the life of the unborn child that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion.
During your earthly life, this child which you have adopted will be known only to God, but in the hereafter, you will enjoy each other’s company for all eternity.
Developmental Update—Your spiritually adopted baby at 34 weeks
The baby continues to grow rapidly and if born now, has an excellent chance of being completely healthy since the lungs are approaching maturity. The womb is becoming quite cramped for the baby and the mother will feel more twisting and wiggling and less vigorous kicking. The baby’s eyes are continuing preparation for life outside the womb and stay open while the baby is awake and close while the baby sleeps. The baby is about 17 to 18 inches long and weighs about 4 to 4 ½ pounds.
You and your family are invited to join the St. Anthony Mary Claret Respect Life Ministry at our upcoming sing-along for the residents of St. Francis Nursing Home.
Saturday, May 8, 2 - 3 p.m.
630 Woodlawn Ave

OVASE (Office of Victim Assistance & Safe Environment) Training – May 5
“The Archdiocese of San Antonio joins all the bishops of the United States in taking a strong and positive stand for the protection of children and youth. We are completely committed to the prevention of abuse through education. This is important to every Catholic to ensure that we are following the mandate of Jesus to "Let the little children come to me." All children must be safe from harm and respected in every Catholic parish, school, and institution.” – Archbishop José H. Gomez, S.T.D.
OVASE training is required every three years for all persons working with children within our parish. We will have an OVASE training Wednesday, May 5, in Msgr. Hubertus Hall at 6:30 p.m. Please RSVP to the RE Office at
